What I interpreted it as is!.!.!.
Instead of hating the person who did that horrible thing, or "sin," forgive the person and instead, "hate" (if you must) the sin or wrongful act that person did!.Www@QuestionHome@Com

The concept, if not the exact wording, has been around far longer than Gandhi!. It means to hate evil deeds but to keep on loving the person who commits them!. We generally manage to do this for our children and others close to us, and we certainly manage to do it for ourselves!Www@QuestionHome@Com

This philosophy was not new , It is actually in the bible as well !.

Basically if you see someone stealing you should not hate them for being a thief , but you should hate the act of stealing!.Www@QuestionHome@Com

I don't know how this quote relates to Gandi!. I don't believe he said it!. The expression Hate the sin love the sinner, means we can disagree with what people do, without hating the person who does the action!.Www@QuestionHome@Com

kinda like when you love your friend but you hate that they do bad things at times!. you love them but hate what they do!.Www@QuestionHome@Com
