Not to sound Anglo-centric but I think the Roman Empire had incredible influence throughout Europe and the Brits colonized the US which is an extremely influential country, so western Europe definitely is a "recognised" culture!.

But it is worth considering that Mandarin Chinese and Hindi-Urdu have the largest population of speakers followed by English!.Www@QuestionHome@Com

i would have to say american!.in india ,thailand ,china,japan'korea,yousee american clothing and products !.there is not a street on the planet that you can't say cocacola and be understood!.say kayeffsee in the phillipeans and people say umm and rub their bellies [kfc]!.if you look in any indian home i'd bet you find american inspired products!.the reverse is not true!.even when you see jihadist on arab tv their t shrts are in english!.ironic that!iwould say china is second!.Www@QuestionHome@Com

The Greeks probably fit that idea in the Western world!. Their architecture, art, philosophy, government and culture have been copied throughout the ages, including the Romans who actually copied the Greeks when they conquered them!.Www@QuestionHome@Com
