Question: What was the intellectual bases of the decolonization movement after WWII!?
I would like a few pointers, abt the intellectual bases of the decolonization movement after WWII, particularly in relation to India/Pakistan,China, Vietnam, Isreal/Palestine!.

A few names abt who lead the independence or decolonization movements in those countries would be nice!.

Gandhi led the independence movement in India!. Discord between Hindus and Muslims led to the separation of Pakistan from India!.

Mao Tse-tung ushered in a Communist government in China in 1949!. Ho Chi Minh was a Marxist who agitated for Vietnam's independence from France!. I don't think you can really name specific people responsible for decolonization post-WWII!. I feel that it occurred because the Western European nations were unable to economically and militarily keep their land possessions!. Almost all of the great powers in Europe had their armies, navies and air forces decimated in battle and they were already stretched thin after WWI!. I also, believe that the Western countries began to realize that it was wrong to subject people under their rules and governance!. However, this does not necessarily mean they did not leave their system and ideas of government in place after they left!.Www@QuestionHome@Com
