Question: In your opinion, was it wise for Nicholas II to move his headquarters to the war front during WW1!?
Best Answer - Chosen by Asker:
Nope! He knew nothing about warfare (as the answer above pointed out) plus his wife Alexandra was hated at home as she was of German extraction, the nationality of the enemy they were fighting against!. There were also rumours of her being too under the thumb of Rasputin who was seen as having too much power at court!.

Plus, it gave another argument for the Bolsheviks, who could claim Nicholas cared more about winning the war and gaining military prestige than the starving people back home!.Www@QuestionHome@Com

Probably not!. First of all, he knew nothing about warfare or how to lead armies!. Second, while he was away, it made it easier for the palace to be overrun!. Things got very chaotic and out of control, and he was far away from those events!. I guess you could make the argument that the revolution might not have happened when it did had he not gone to the front!. But, eventually, it would have come!.Www@QuestionHome@Com

wise or not it turned out to be irrelevant, since he was overthrown and murderedWww@QuestionHome@Com
