I absolutely love old houses!. It's almost a fetish with me!. I can wander around any old building--from palace to abandoned farmhouse--slack-jawed and excited!. My thoughts do imagine the history of the building--materials used, social conditions of the builders, technological advancement and trends of architecture, how the landscape and space has changed!.

I wish there were a way to make a living just simply admiring old buildings!.Www@QuestionHome@Com

Yes I have!. In New Orleans, lower 9th Ward, 3 weeks before Hurricane Katrina hit we investigated an abandoned building!. It was part of an experiment to see if anyone could guess its past!. We also used emf detectors, thermometers, and dousing rods just in case something should happen!. The building had originally been a small plantation, then a brothel, then a bar, and ultimately a corner drugstore!. It was an awesome experience! Sadly the building was destroyed by the hurricane 3 weeks later!. We got some of the last photographs and were some of the last souls to pass through the building!Www@QuestionHome@Com

there is this old schoolhouse in my town that still has all the original desks, books, everything in it and I love to visit it to think of what it must have been like to be a teacher here (i'm in college as an education major) or how it must have been to be a student there!. I love it! What a blast from the past!!!Www@QuestionHome@Com

when I go to an old Home, I have usually done the research to determine it's History!. Before we can commence an Examination, we need to know what has traspired there, and who the Occupants have been!.

Great question!Www@QuestionHome@Com
