Alexander Hamilton!. Of course, being runner-up in a duel isn't exactly a place you want to be!Www@QuestionHome@Com

I agree with superawesome PRIYA, in that there was no runner-up!. Alexander Hamilton lost his life in the duel, while Burr, who was considered to be a contender for President in many circles after serving as vice president under Thomas Jefferson, lost his political career!. Of note, Hamilton was involved in 21 duels prior to his loss to Burr!. Burr, on the other hand, fought in only one prior duel, losing a button on his coat to Hamilton's brother-in-law!.Www@QuestionHome@Com
