None of the above!. Firstly, I must assume you mean Athens, as most people do when they say ancient Greece!. In Athens, it was the sponsor of the chorus that won the prize!. Wealthy citizens were picked to pay for the chorus, they had no say in it!. It was part of their civic duty, similar to how wealthy Romans were expected to pay for public buildings!. However, if their sponsored chorus was deemed the best they (the sponsor) would receive a golden tripod that would be displayed publicly!.
