Yes, there were other battles and engagements though effectively the war was over once Lee (who by then had been appointed commander of ALL Confederate forces) surrendered!.

Specific, you had fighting at Mobile (didn't surrender until 3 days after Lee did), Joe Johnston continued to engage Sherman in North Carolina and didn't surrender until April 26th (2 weeks after Appomattox), Smith and Taylor didn't surrender until May (in Alabama and Mississippi), and Shelby didn't surrender until June in Texas!. You had several battles that occurred after Lee's surrender: Ft!. Tyler (in Alabama), PalmitoRanch (in Texas around May 19th--a full month after Lee's surrender) as probably the last two major actions!.

Finally, the CSS Shenandoah was still sinking ships and taking prisoners after the Fall of the confederacy and didn't surrender until November 1865 by sailing into Liverpool and turning themselves in to the British!.Www@QuestionHome@Com

There were plenty of other battles!. As already noted, Johnston had not yet surrendered his army, and Confederate troops in the west and parts of the confederate navy continued to fight!.Www@QuestionHome@Com

Not known if there were other battles after Lee's surrender, but Confederate General Joseph Johnston didn't surrender his troops until April 26, 1865 in Durham, North Carolina to Union General William T Sherman!.Www@QuestionHome@Com

There were a few skirmishes here and there, but once Lee told the people to not fight anymore the majority of Southern troops complied!.
