Question: What did the Confederate flag represent!?
I live in the northern U!.S!. Just this morning I Googled the Confederate Air Force!. It's an organization that restores WW 2 aircraft!. They had changed their name to Commemorative Air Force!. I thought that it was sad that they had to cave in to political correctness!.

The Confederacy of the southern states organized to separate from the rest of the Union!. This was the premise of the Civil War!. The Union did not want to allow the South to become a nation with in a nation!. The slavery issue didn't come about until the war was already well under way!. And for well over a century, the Confederate flag has been used to symbolize an attitude of being a rebel and being independant - as with Dukes of Hazzard, stunt planes and cars, etcetera!. It was just in the last few years all that was changed by a small group of folks to mean something negative, as with slavery, which was never the intent of those folks who still display the flag!. The Mexico flag doesn't represent the Spanish Inquisition!.Www@QuestionHome@Com

Which Confederate Flag!? There are two basic flags, the real Confederate Flag and the Confederate Battle Flag!. The one that most are familiar with is the Battle Flag!. It has a St!. Andrews Cross on it and in that cross there are 13 stars!. Why 14 stars, there were only 11 Confederate States!.

It was supposed that 13 states would drop out of the union and join the confederacy!. Two, both starting with the letter M, did not!. They are Missouri and Maryland!.Www@QuestionHome@Com

I am a southerner born and i raised!. I have lived almost my entire life in the great city of Atlanta, the capital of the south!.

I however have very strong feelings of the confederate flag!. The confederate flag is a representation of the Confederacy which was formed for no other purpose then to continue the enslavement of people!.

The confederacy would not have been formed without the desire to continue the evil practice of slavery!. So therefore anything representing the confederate states also represents and supports the idea of slavery!.

The confederate flag is not just a representation of the southern way of life!. It is a representation of the disgusting practice that people believed in so much that they were willing to fight and die for!.Www@QuestionHome@Com
