The JW changed a good many teachings of Christianity!. Where did the idea come from that Jesus only came to save 144,000 people!? Surely one line from the Book of Revelation can't overcome the idea that "Whosoever believes in the Son of God shall have eternal life!." Yet they adopted that belief!. It's mindboggling that they have millions of followers even though they believe that less than 10% of their believers will be saved!. Why a stake instead of a cross!? I don't know how they determined it, but it's contrary to a remarkable number of passages in the actual Christian Bible!.

I'm Eastern Orthodox!. The Bible was written to us at little towns throughout the Middle East, Greece and Rome!. If you're looking for what was actually written by the Apostles and actual witnesses, I suggest buying an Orthodox study Bible!. If you're looking for manmade translations and manmade doctrine, the JW are one of the pseudo-Christian religions who changed the wording to meet their needs!. For most of us, the Bible should be the final arbiter of Christian teachings!. If it was good enough for the Apostles to write it that way, who are we to second-guess their teachings!?Www@QuestionHome@Com

I'm not a JW but the Greek word for "cross" is stauros which also translates to stake!.

4716!. stauros, stow-ros'; from the base of G2476; a stake or post (as set upright), i!.e!. (spec!.) a pole or cross (as an instrument of capital punishment); fig!. exposure to death, i!.e!. self-denial; by impl!. the atonement of Christ:--cross!.

If you look into the history of the cross you will discover it has many pagan origins!. Other crosses such as the templar and swastika are evil in its origins!.

The only legitimate symbol of the Messiah would be the seven candle Menorah for the God of Israel!.Www@QuestionHome@Com

Wow, this is a new one!. None of these stories really has any "authority," anyway, so who cares!? It's like arguing about whether Cinderella's shoe was made of glass or of gold!. It's still a fairy tale!.Www@QuestionHome@Com
