Question: The thermidoreans!?

I was looking up the thermidoreans and thermidoran reaction, and couldent find anything, and i have an exam on monday!. So i have 36 terms to learn, and those are two of them!. And i was wondering if there was anyone who would be able to help me!?

well, i hope you know the history of the french revolution before 1794!.
what you have to know abt the thermidorians :
- they are called like that because they took the power after the month of Thermidor (july-august in the revolutionary calendar)!.
- they took the power beating Robespierre and the Montagnards who ruled France from 1792 to 1794!.
- after the "Terror"of Robespierre they wanted to establish a quiet government that guarantee peace (in france), stability of the republican power and property (domination of the owners in the republic, pulling out the poorest part of ppl) : in a certain way, they want to save the french revolution (liberty, equality but also property and security)!.
- they killed the ones who killed ppl during the "Terror", calling them the "terrorists" (it's the 1st meaning of this word: men of the french Terror) : these events are called the "White Terror" (terror against terrorists) or the thermidorian reaction!.
- they created a new consitution, far less popular that the terrorsists' one, strengthening the power of owners and bourgeois, in 1795!. it's actually called the Directory (1795-1799), that finished when Napoleon took the power!.Www@QuestionHome@Com
