That would be very difficult to answer and there probably isn't a compliation somewhere -- although a number of people have time to burn!. You have to remember that Italy alone was, fractured into a number of small kingdoms and city states, a situation that lasted until the 19th century!.!.!.!.Www@QuestionHome@Com

In northern IItaly there was one - a very civilised Visigoth kingdom ruled by Odoacer!. But overall the mishmash of principalities and kingdoms that were a feature of Europe until the Merovingian kings and Charlemagne brought some unity!.Www@QuestionHome@Com
