Writing, everything stems from there!. Writing was invented by the Sumerians in 3300BC!.!.!.!.!.They also invented The Wheel, Mathematics, Beer, Schools, and the Calendar, breaking time into years, months, days, weeks and hours!.!.!.an amazing people who pre dated the Egyptians, but always seem to get overlooked by history!.!.!.they were eventually absorbed by the Assyrians-Babylonians by 1800BC, and they then went on to build the worlds first Zoos, Botanical Gardens, Libraries, Heavy Cavalry, Coinage, The Battery, Seige Engines, Professional Armies, Organised Civil Service, Postal Service, Advanced Laws, Advanced Medicine etc etc!.

Britain invented the Jet Engine, Penicillin, Trains, Television, Photography, The Computer, World Wide Web, AntiSeptic, Vaccination, Steam Engine, VTOL Aircraft, Hovercraft, Radar, Cloning, Test Tube Babies, Telephone and the theories of Gravity and Evolution as well as starting the Industrial Revolution etc!.

So, look where we'd be without the Mesopotamians and the British!.

I think the automobile is by far the greatest invention that has been made by man!. It sure has come a long way and is still being renovated to this day!.
