It varies depending on what school you go to!. You can always find classes that are specific to that kind of history!. We are required to take some kind of world history, which usually encompasses all of Europe!.

And of course Britain's history is closely related to our own, since we came from there!. We know about the plague, and we know about medieval culture, but we couldn't list off the names and reigns of all the monarchs!.

Most of European history ends up being about France, and our own history is only since the Revolution in 1770!.Www@QuestionHome@Com

Usually American High Schools require either world history or western civilization!. When I was in school, we had just transitioned from western civilization to world history!. Slightly more emphasis is placed on England than any other European country!. also English Literature is required!. So when I was in school the History department would work with the English department to co-ordinate lessons plans that fit!.Www@QuestionHome@Com

Generally, besides American History, we study world history!. It includes Britain but not exclusively!. I think that there are courses that you can take though that focus more on Britain, but they are more of an optional topic!.Www@QuestionHome@Com

Yes, but I'm afraid I'm an exception because I took an Advanced Placement European history course in high school!. Most students don't take courses like that, so a typical American's education centers around American history!.Www@QuestionHome@Com
