The President for the majority of World War II was Franklin Delano Roosevelt, whose most enduring image in my mind is with a jaunty smile and a cigarette in a holder!. I can see, even though it was only a photograph in a history book, how this could present a heartening, confident image to the home front as well as to the troops!.Www@QuestionHome@Com
