O Tom,
What's up!?!?
You have obviously experienced the above given the question!.
O!.K, so I'm wrong!. SORRY!!!!!!!!!!! Tom!.
Seriously though, A), B),C),D), and E) may be what some people do but there are those of us who like to research questions and also to draw from our own knowledge base!.I have answered questions for kids doing homework!. You can tell from the panic in their words, that they need help!. When they contact me to let me know they received a high mark, I am happy for them Tom!.
Tom, I know some people are addicted to points so much so they answer all topics!.
Speaking for myself!. I am passionate about History, as it is my work and therefore enjoy helping people to understand it's importance and value!. I only answer this topic!.
One thing which annoys me Tom, is the amount of people who answer and never credit the author,I have even had my answers plagiarized!. Most annoying Tom!.
Now , I feel better for saying that!.
Keep the faith Tom!.

Most likely, yes!. But just remember that sometimes you will come across the odd person that does actually know something about the subject and is giving a genuine answer!.

Wikipedia is a pet hate of mine though - and a lot of the time, when people copy and paste, they either get positive votes or best answer (which sometimes annoys me if I've spent time writing something myself and then just get negatives)! I mean, I'll look at it occasionally just for random useless information, but never for anything actually important or factual - anything on there should be taken with a pinch of salt!. But, like I said above, there could be some entries on there though where the person writing it does know about the subject and may be quite correct!. But I'd still take everything it says with a pinch of salt and look elsewhere for back up info!.

Oh, yahoo answers!.!.!.!. *sigh*Www@QuestionHome@Com

Ja

That said you ignore a few important issues;

A) Some of us will answer sincerely, take time to type up an original essay only to be blasted by the questioner who only wanted a cut & paste article
or
B) Having answered sincrely, one will write a good accurate answer only to lose to "I like eating my boogers!.

C) Some of us think the question pertains to a subject due to the vague question only to realize to late it is in regards to a different topic,

D) I could go on but what is the point but yes the quality of answers is sad and frightful!.!.!.!.

Peace

(I have long said that the questioner should be able to state whether they are just playing or if they want a sincere answer!. A majority of he questioners truly do not care what answers they get as evidenced by how many are decided by popular vote, not for correct answer but for something called 'best answer' as if 'I Like eating my Boogers' is a better answer than the one word "Sarajevo" for 'Where was Franz Ferdinand Assacinated!?)Www@QuestionHome@Com

i for one, do not use wikipedia for anything!. i have read some pretty blatant falsehoods on the site, and i don't like the idea of anyone being able to "change" what they don't like!. if i am knowledgable on the topic or question, i give it my best shot from what i know!. i do not cut and paste, nor do i give smart-@ssed answers, or one-word answers!. i also do not follow the person in front of me!. i try to be different but also correct!. i also don't "ditto"!.Www@QuestionHome@Com

It's a definite risk, rather than truly inevitable, but you might still get some useful replies!.

Oh, and someone might point out that your question has been asked hundreds of times before, and that you should have noticed the "question search" feature!.
(if I see one more "origins of WW1" question!.!.!.)Www@QuestionHome@Com

Someone will tell you about how you have a long life line and there is a traumatic event in your future involving a male father figure starting with the letter 'M'!. Does M ring a bell!.!.!.anyone with the letter M!?

Then they will take your $25!. or $50 if your a tourist!.Www@QuestionHome@Com

Yes, all the above are true!. It is the nature of the beast!.

C!. seems to be the most commonly given answer!.

It drives me nuts over in Boats and boating, there are answers from people who have clearly never been on a boat!.

Two points please ;-)Www@QuestionHome@Com

I agree with the comments here regarding Wikipedia!. The site is notorously inaccurate!.

Some of us actually want to offer sincere original answers to sincere queries!. And we shy away from doing someone's homework!.Www@QuestionHome@Com

Of course!. It is also inevitable that a helpful student of history will decide to help out, but get drowned in the waves of less educated people!.Www@QuestionHome@Com

obviously history like the answers is not inevitable!. So pray tell, whats your question!?!?!? Don't let history repeat itself!, and be a twit about your question!.Www@QuestionHome@Com

Mmm, probably!. ;(Www@QuestionHome@Com

A, B,C,& D are very true, as is the recently added F!.

E, however, is so far off the mark its not even funny!.!.!.!.!.Www@QuestionHome@Com
