No reason to!. There was no easy congress between the two capitals (Victoria and Fort Langley) and Victoria saw itself as connecting to the world through the shipping lanes to Seattle!. Prior to the arrival of the railway, the BC colony was regarded as a real backwater!.Www@QuestionHome@Com
