probably like the mid to late 1970s, because after that the 80s were really about electronic music, lycra and fitness!!!Www@QuestionHome@Com

It hasn't actually died out, believe it or not, they just went a bit silent, and some of them live in a town called Garberville in Northern California! They drive the Volkswagon busses, with their flower power and flowers painted on them, even wear the same clothing, and talk the same way!.Www@QuestionHome@Com

mmmmm!.!.!.!.!.so you think it died out!? Too bad!. It hasn't!.!.!.!.it just changed clothes and got a hair cut!. Hippie was a philosophy,not what you visually see on tv!.!.!.!.I speak from experience,not documentaries!.!.!.the hippies are now your banker,store owner,CEOs,etc!.!.!.!.for some, yes, they have been assimilated into the culture and all but abandoned their means and methods in exchange for $$!.!.!.!.They found out money("dirty word" in those days)can move more mountains than getting stoned in a teepee with your free-love parter for life(if life is measured in minutes!)!.!.!.!.But if you think the ideology is dead, check out "hipforums" on line!.!.!.you'll think you just got sling shotted back to '65!! by the way!.!.!.being my age and still basically looking at things the same way I did then is TOTALLY frustrating at times to the point of shouting out loud!.!.!.I'm sure most would assume hippies died out in the early 70s when actually those, even in the early 70s ,had evolved into a totally different breed in many ways!.!.!.PS--if you think Bush is any worse than Nixon, you're void of history!. We felt the same way about him as you do "W"!.!.!.And yet,if you'll notice, Nixon is still credited with doing more for US/China relations than most!.!.!.!.so if you live long enough you'll probibly see some good in this president too(it's a cyclical thing!)Www@QuestionHome@Com
