The Protestant Reformation was a reform movement in the Holy Roman Empire that began in 1517, though its roots lie further back in time!. The Reformation involved cultural, economic, political and religious aspects!. It began with Martin Luther and ended with the Peace of Westphalia in 1648Www@QuestionHome@Com

The reformation was started by Martin Luther around 1517 !. It was started as a protest ot the sale of indulgences by the catholic church !. An indulgence is the forgiveness of a sin one has already committed so you will not have to be judged for that sin in heaven !. Luther has of the opinion that one cannot buy ones way into heaven with an indulgence !. He felt the catholic church was turning a blind eye to the sins rich people were committing !. The reformation would end around the time of the end of the 30 years war in 1648 !. That war insured Protestantism would survive in Europe !.Www@QuestionHome@Com
