For land area, the Mongol Empire of the 1200's was clearly the largest of the three - - but much of that land area was sparsely populated plains, desolate dessert, or steppes!. Still, the Mongol Empire also had the most people since they controlled China!. Added note - - Hmmm, The actual land mass/area of the British Empire of 1900 verses the Mongol Empire of 1300!? That is another interesting comparison that may take some careful calculating!. The Mongols controlled most of Asia!. I'm not sure the British Empire could match that for territorial area even with India and parts of Africa - some of the African areas under rather loose control!. But that is another question!.
