Panama was a very tropical place that had many forests, jungles, mnay wild animals and bugs!. As we built the canal many people got yellow fever which was a virus from mosquitos and it led to many deaths!. With the building of the canal it helped bring wealth and commerce to the area!. Presently the canal is just there, it is now under Panamian control and it helps people with health!. I'm not sure for environment but humanity has played a big part in the central american part of the world!. Might want to check out encycopedia brittanica or wikipedia for enviroment/human affects on the Panama canal!. Hope this was helpful!.Www@QuestionHome@Com

Okay so I don't know a whole lot on this topic, but my dad read a book on this and kept telling me all these tidbits!.!.!.sadly the only thing i can remember is that a problem with mosquitoes intensified as a result of the construction ((I believe it had to do with the water but I'm not sure))!. Now this isn't exactly about the environment, but I'm sure it was an effect that stemmed from the changing environment!. Hope this helps a bit!Www@QuestionHome@Com
