Question: Would a military alliance between the Axis powers and the British Empire been unstoppable!?
Even with the United States and the Soviet Union in opposition, I suspect that with Britain on board, Nazi Germany could have crushed the world!.

What do you think!?Www@QuestionHome@Com

Well, yes it probably would have been unstoppable!.

You would have had Nazi Germany, together with Britain and its empire, including manpower and resources from Australia, New Zealand, Canada, India, South Africa!. Middle East, Indo-China etc!.!.!.and not forgetting the strategic importance of certain places!.

In addition to that you would have the wight of the Japanese Empire thrown in also!. Other Axis powers such as Italy, Romania, Hungary,Austria and nominally Finland also would have to be added!.

Spain, Portugal and a number of South American countries were broadly sympathetic to the Nazis also, particularly Argentina, Paraguay, Chile and Uruguay!.

also, it must be remembered that at the start of WW2 the USA was not prepared for war!. Their airforce did not initially have anything to match the Japanese Zero fighters, let alone the ME109 or Spitfire!.

At this stage the US Army was under equipped, its troops not combat trained or ready, and they were woefully lacking in heavy armour!.!.!.!.in fact throughout the war, the USA never built a better tank than the Sherman, which was no match for the Tiger or Panzer 4, or the British Centurion, which was invented just before the end!.

The Royal Navy alone was still larger than the US Navy at the outbreak of war, without taking into account the German, Japanese and Italian navies!.

Nuclear weapons- Without the help of exiled Jewish and European scientists the USA would never have developed the nuclear bomb!.

also, it was Germany that invented the first guided missile, and also U Boats, and Britain the Jet Engine and the Computer

Russia would never have been able to cope with both Axis and British Forces attacking from the West, Britain attacking from the South from its bases in the Middle East, possibly also through western China via India, and a Japanese assault from the East!.

They would also not have had the aid that Britain in fact gave them in WW2!.

It would have been possible to overwhelm Russia, then surround the USA, Cutting it off by sea, then launching a land assault through Canada, and a seabourne assault from both the Pacific and Atlantic simultaneously!.Www@QuestionHome@Com

I doubt it!. The only reason Britain was able to defend itself against a superior German air-force was because they had radar!. Without the radar, they were nothing!. Plus, to crush the world, they would have to take out Russia, North America, and South America!. It would never happen!. If Hitlers vastly superior army couldn't take down Soviet Russia, what makes you think that by having Britain on board would help!? Britain's army sucked, thats why the U!.S!.A jumped into Europe, because the British were getting their butts kicked on the ground!. also, America got the Atomic Bomb first, and had the Axis succesfully taken Europe, we would've bombed the crap out of it!.Www@QuestionHome@Com

an allience with the Axis powers would have to had been made b4 '39, after '41 a blockade by the U!.S would have forced us to capitulate within months! No oil, there was very little oil in Arabia even less in Africa @ that time, no oil no aircraft, no mechanised army only the steam powered ships of the R!.N, so we would'nt have been unbeatable!

Now or then!? Then!? Maybe, but you have to remember the logistics involved in an invasion of the United States!.Www@QuestionHome@Com

"Britain's army sucked, thats why the U!.S!.A jumped into Europe, because the British were getting their butts kicked on the ground!."
I'm not even going to go into how this isn't true!.Www@QuestionHome@Com

Given history and the leaders that were in office at the time this would have been imposible, more realistically lets say that Japan didn't bomb Pearl Harbor and the United States maintained a small part in this stage of WWII!. At the time the U!.S!. was sending supplies and weapons to England in support of the war but even with the U!.S!. aid England was in a bad spot nearly completly cut off, if Germany could have at this point taken control of England the war would have changed greatly!.

Firstly the invasion at Normandy would never have happened, and for the U!.S!. to get a foot hold they would have been forced to enter through China facing a very strong Japanesse navy enroute!. Further this would have made the war primarily a one front war allowing Germany to move a much greater percentage of her force against Russia!. Saying this we must realize that Stallin was not a great military commander, but he was smart enough that after a few defeats he allowed his military commanders much more control, which allowed for Russian victories!.

Now, we have to look realistically at the size of Europe, but also at Asia, and we have to look at how steadfast the Axis powers would have held!. Hitler and Mussolini both had goals which adventually given success would have lead to conflict between them if thier personalities didn't doom them before power did!. Another problem would have been the resistance to occupation, which in many area's forced Germany to hold large occupation forces to keep the peace and territory which would have caused considerable problems adding a second very fine front to the battle!.

Given this information, the terrain and size of area it is possible that between Germany and Japan over time probably between five and ten years they could have taken Europe, Africa and Asia there would have still been constant reble attacks and it probably would have taken another 10 to 15 years to consolidate thier power and make the region somewhat stable!. Making it difficult to push for global domination, with out the help of South American countries to give Axis forces a foothold making much progress into the Americas would have been difficult though not impossible!.

In the end I honestly see this as a much more realistic course of action, and one in which the axis powers stood a realistic chance at completling thier goals!. Though atleast from my stand point chances would have been much better that England sailed away from Europe then joining the Axis powers!.Www@QuestionHome@Com
