Question: Presidents!?
Who do you think is the most overrated president, the most underrated president, the president who did the most good, and the president who did the most harm!?Www@QuestionHome@Com

Best Answer - Chosen by Asker:
Overrated: Andrew Jackson - He is literally famous for nothing, aside from maybe the duel he had on the White House lawn!. He was a hick!.

Underrated: George W!. Bush - I'm going to get smoked for this one but hear me out!. The guy has done a terrible job yes; but he has also come to power during the single worst series of national crises in American history!. He's had to deal with terrorist attacks, an unpopular war, a sagging economy, a dissident party, and natural disasters!. I'm not saying that he's handled them all well, I'm just saying that I would've blown my brains out by now!.

Most Good: Lincoln would be my pick, only because he essentially ran the shop during the period that resulted in modern America!. He kinda went with the flow himself though!. Interestingly the GWB list also applies to him!.

Most Harm: Either Monroe or Bush!. Despite Bush's terrible circumstance, he hasn't handled a single decision effectively!. He has been a poor businessman at that!. And even though I agree with the philosophy of the tax cuts, he shot himself in the foot by going to war on two fronts and then extending them!. It's a real punishment to national debt, and it has put China in way too good of a position!.

Monroe on the other hand was the man who paved the way for the "America! **** Yeah!" policies that we have pursued for some time now!. Manifest destiny is still very much in our national psyche, whether we would like to admit it or not!.Www@QuestionHome@Com

Overrated: Wilson!.
Good on some things, but terrible on others!. Awful on racial issues, and he screwed up Versailles!.

Underrated: Grant
Yes, he had a lot of corrupt people in his administration, but his reconstruction policies actually helped lots of people in the South!.

Most Good: Franklin Delano Roosevelt
Two words: Social Security!.
Oh, and that beating Hitler thing!. That rocked!.

Most Harm: The current idiot-in-chief, GW Bush
Two words: Hurricane Katrina
Oh, and that whole destroying the Constitution thing!.
Impeachment now!Www@QuestionHome@Com

Most overrated
Abe Lincoln - Most people believe he set out to free the slaves!. Although he thought slavery was wrong, he didn't intend to free them but to prevent more states from being slave states!. The slaves were freed because he thought it would hurt the south and help end the war!.

Most underrated
Teddy Roosevelt - He was an environmentalist in the true sense of the word!. The entire national park system was his creation!.

Most good
Dwight Eisenhower - he created the national highway system

Most harm
Franklin Roosevelt - The welfare system that he created helped get the country through the depression but since has become a huge burden on the country and the taxpayer!.Www@QuestionHome@Com

Overrated: Kennedy!. Dying in office did more to solidify his legacy than anything

Underrated: Nixon!. Like it or not look at the record!. Visits to China, Detante, ending Vietnam!. Take away Watergate and you have a great presidency!. Then again, other than that Mrs!. Lincoln how was the play!?

Most Good: Tie: FDR and Reagan: FDR, WWII, the only reason it is a tie is because the new deal fiasco did more to set back the country than most anything, however his policies defeated the greatest enemies in US history!. As for Reagan, again there are negatives, but having lived through the economic turmoil left by Carter (double didget inflation, unemployment, and gas rationing) the 80s were, as I remember, a remarkable time, and while Clinton didn't HURT things in the 90s, the boom in the 90s were due to the policy of Reagan

Most harm: Every president leading up to Lincoln that supported continuation of slavery!. We are STILL suffering the repercussions of Kansas/Nebraska act et al today!. OR Johnson!. We may never recover from his "great society"Www@QuestionHome@Com
