ive been on it!.2005!.at 2 places,Mutianyu,most others on the tour took the cablecar up to the Wall,i walked through the forest in great heat and humidity,whats the point in going all that way to take the cable car up to the Wall!?,i walked up,i felt huge satisfaction as i may never see that place again and i did it the hard way not like the rest!.Mutianyu part of the Wall was rebuilt in 1569!?!.Outside here the mountains are steep while inside the land is gentle!.most of the land here is forests and fruit trees!.some scenic parts are Bulls Horn Ridge,Arrow Knock,and Eagle Flying Belly Up!.this section of the Wall at Mutianyu has parapets forming a defense work and the Wall goes down in a series of escarpments!.the Great Wall as we see it was mostly built under the Ming,it grew to be some 5,660 kilometres from shanhai pass to jiayu pass by way of hebei,beijing,shanxi,inner mongolia,ningxia,shaanxi and gansu!.its listed by unesco in the list of the world cultural heritage!.the other place i went was the section at Badaling ,only 60 kilometers from Beijing!.this part was built in the Hongzhi reign of the Ming!.here the wall is on average some 7!.8 meters with huge granite slab base!.watchtowers and battlements etc,the Wall here goes through mountains!.you know what!?words are not good enough to describe it!.if you do anything in this life,go to Mutianyu and Badaling and walk the WALL!.PS!.keep an eye out for a local at Badaling up on the Wall selling water, with a Formula 1 cap,i swopped it for a hat with I Climbed The Great Wall on it,and if by chance you stay at holiday inn downtown ,in beijing DO NOT hand over $200 to the mama san in the kareoke bar in the Holiday inn Downtown!.they will try get you take a bar girl back to your room for $200 and by the time you get to your room with the girl,the drug they slipped into your drink will knock you out and thats it!.shes gone,your $200 is gone,its a con,a rip off!!!.just a friendly word of advice,wouldnt want you to get stung by that old hag mama san at the kareoke bar!.save your $'s for a tour to the Wall!.Www@QuestionHome@Com

There are many features of the wall, however the most prominent is the fact it can be seen from space, as a great shadow, covering the continent across!. This is most prominent, as it is one of the only man -made structures to dso so!.
