Question: Lincoln's Funeral!?!?!?

Please give me a short summary about Abraham Lincoln's Funeral on April 21st, 1865!. ( Just short but don't loose any main ideas please!. ) Or long is perfectly fine too!. The route covered by the train covered the same route he traveled on his way from Springfield to Washington in 1861!. The body of William Wallace Lincoln was exhumed and transported to Springfield with his father!.

They made stops along the way, as Lincoln had done on his way to Washington!. He lay in state in the Pennsylvania State House (where the Continental Congress met) where in 1861 he had said in a speech that he'd rather be assassinated than lose one state from the Union!.

The funeral train was met by people all over the route lining the tracks watching it go by!.

Lincoln and his son Willy were laid to rest in a quiet peaceful place!. The tomb was fairly simple at first, the carving and such came later, following the attempt to steal the body!.

He was brought basiclly on a tour throughout a country on a train and had a basic burial, but of course with military honors ect, it was similar to JFK's burialWww@QuestionHome@Com
