Manifest Destiny, a belief that the world(at least the West) was open for the taking, and anyone who put forth a bit of hard work could make their own future in the way of their own choosing!.Www@QuestionHome@Com

more space!. Land grants were given to military peole who fought during certain wars!. My ancestor served in the War of 1812 and was given 640 acres in Texas in payment for his service in the war!. He gave the land to his sons and they went west to live there!.Www@QuestionHome@Com
