Question: What was the reasons behind the us involvement in world war two!?
Best Answer - Chosen by Asker:
The U!.S!. was blocking oil shipments to Japan!. The Japanese had few fuel reserves left!. The Japanese didn't believe that the U!.S!. had the heart to go to war, so hoping that the U!.S!. would back down, the Japanese attacked Pearl Harbor!.

Shortly thereafter, because Japan was a German ally, Germany declared war on the U!.S!.

What is important to remember is that the United States didn't have the military might that we have today!. During the 40s the U!.S!. military was close to what the Argentine military is today!. The only thing that the US had going for them was a huge industrial might!.

Um - the Japanese attacked Pearl Harbour!. The Japanese were allied with the Germans (this alliance was refered to as the Axis) so when the US declared war on Japan, in retaliation for the bombing of Pearl Harbour, they were automatically part of the war in Europe, and allied with Great Britain and Russia against the Germans and ItaliansWww@QuestionHome@Com
