Foreign countries that fought against Germany in WW1 were still hostile towards Germany!.
French and Belgium troops invaded the Ruhr due to Germany missing reparation payments, which they couldn't afford due to hyperinflation!. The French and Belgium occupation of the Ruhr meant that Germany's vital resources were being taken from them by France and Belgium!. This caused the government to call for passive resistance against the troops occupying the Ruhr which means that they refused to follow orders from them!. Although this seemed like a patriotic act, it made matters worse!. It amounted to violence and imprisonment of those passively resisting the French and Belgium troops!. Several were killed!.
However when Gustav Stresemann was made Chancellor he called off passive resistance and managed to get rid of the French and Belgium troops in the Ruhr by agreeing to pay more managable reparations!.Www@QuestionHome@Com

The Wiemar republic did recover partially during this time under Gustav Stressman who was the main politician of this time, notable for his staying power in an ever changing coalition government within the Reichstag!.

Under Stressman, Germany was allowed to enter the League of Nations, a huge step forward for the country!. Germany also became one of the five main members of the council, lessening the feeling of the German people that they were a minor country in Europe now!.

Stressman also reformed the currency to the Rentenmark to combat Hyperinflation, which allowed the people to start living normally again!.

He also accepted the Dawes plan (1924), which allowed Germany to borrow money from the USA, invest it in industry, gain more revenue from taxes, and then pay back the reparations to Briatin and France, who used the money to pay off debts to the USA!.

In 1929, he replaced the Dawes Plan with the Young Plan, which reduced reparations by 25% and gave Germany 58 years to pay them!.

However, these loans were all based on the financial security of the USA, and as soon as the Wall Street Crash occurred, USA called back the loans and Germany was plunged into another economic dark time!.

Setting Economics aside, there was also a cultural reform within Germany at this time (much like the USA) with jazz music and dance halls becoming popular!. However, some traditional Germans felt this was a negative thing for Germany, and Hitler was able to use this to gain power in the 1930's!.

For some odd reason much of which I suspect is secret Hitler worship, the Weimar Republic gets a lot of nasty negative press much of which is way out of sync with reality!.
If your essay is entitled ; 'How Far Did the Weimar Republic Recover from 1924 - 1929' then you are on the right path!.
Obscured amidst Hitler and the Nazi rise to power is that Germany was on the path to recovery by 1929 and IT IS A MYTH that the onset of the great Depression following October 1929 drove the final nail into the Weimar Coffin!.
In fact if one studies Nazi Propaganda in 1931 into 1932 one detacts a strong whiff of desperation!. The NAZIS were scared that Germany was recovering and that in recovering that Germans would turn more towards the Catholic-Nationalists and the Social-Democratic Parties and away from the Nazis with their shrill cry of doom under the auspices of the Weimar Republic!.

As for the Weimar Republics dealing with other countries yes there was strain but over all Britain and France had begin to realize that punnishing Germany for what was now an 'old' war was not practical!. Twice during this period Britain and France agreed to lessen the amount of reparations that had to be paid so this would suggest that other countries were getting along with Weimar!. "Foreign Policy !. The Young Plan (1929-1930) reduced the reparation rates Germany had to pay!. At the Lausanne Conference 1932, Germany succeeded in getting the approval of Britain and France for its decision to halt reparations payments!.
-------------------------Reparation payments continued to burden the German economy; the Young Plan (Jan!. 1930) reduced Germany's payment rates, but failed to halt the country's rapid economic downturn; in 1932 Germany halted reparations payments (Lausanne Conference)!. """
