These took place in Latin America after a series of brutal dictatorships in Chile, Argentina and Uruguay!. The point of these trials was to bring former regime members to trial for crimes against humanity!. However, because the former regimes were military regimes, most criminals were never put on trial for fear of instigating civil wars!.
