Bell believed that curing deafness in a generation was possible by forcibly sterilizing the deaf!. This ignores the fact that most deaf are the childrem of hearing parents and in turn have hearing children!. It did inspire Adolf Hitler though and he supposedly wrote a letter to Bell thanking him for it!.
