PALESTINE has NEVER EXISTED as a SOVEREIGN COUNTRY!. PALESTINE is now TWO separate countries: JORDAN and ISRAEL!.

people hate other who are different from them!. for centuries, jews did not have a country after they were expelled by the romans from their home in Palestine!. jews were left to settle in other countries around the world!. thus they were always a minority in any place the lived, and minorities are disliked in general!. they had a different religion, different culture, sometimes different language, and that breeds mistrust, stereotypes, and bigotry from the general population that jews happened to live amongst!.

The holocaust happened before there was a state of Israel to occupy palestine!. in fact, Israel was created in part as a response to holocaust!.Www@QuestionHome@Com

Unfortunately the simple answer is Christianity!. While no one would willingly admit to it today, for a very long time the Catholic, Orthodox and Protestant churches considered Jews to be the killers of Christ!.

Whether you believe that to be the case or not, in the middle ages there were a number of instances where Jew's became the scapegoats for a number of horrible things!. For instance, Saint William of Norwich is renowned not for any specific miracle, but for being the first case of the Jews killing a Christian child for his blood!.

Even before that, during the first crusade Jewish communities were decimated by crusaders wanting to rid Europe of non-believers!.

It only got progressively worse during the middle ages, especially during the bubonic plague!. Jews were blamed for the epidemic in the form of 'well poisoning'!.

"Why" this belief kept going on is hard to pin down by any stretch of the imagination!.

As far as their own history, Jews have been in a hard situation!.!.!. They have a distinct religion outside of the country they reside in yet they are born in that same country!.!.!. Where do you place them!? The modern ideal is to say they are simply a different religion within the national bounds, but that isnt' how it's always gone!.Www@QuestionHome@Com

for your info jewish history goes back more than 5500 years unlike arab history that is of no conciquence, and there is no illegal occupation (only by so called palestinians)israel as it is today is only a small part of the original israel that took in parts of syria ,egypt ,all of jordan,and there has never been a people known as palestinians as they are just immigrants from other arab countries and decided to call themselves palestinians,hitler hated the jews just as obviously you do because because they got off their butts and worked for what they want,just as the arabs were not that interested in israel until they saw what was being done to turn dessert into farmland by shear hard work,by the way jewish history pre-dates arab history by thousands of years and please dont say that the original egyptian history is older because the original egyptians were not arabs!.Www@QuestionHome@Com

It's said Hitler first hated the Jews because he thought they prevented him from getting work as an artist in Vienna!. Note that the word Jews is spelt with a capital!.

You only have to look back to Balfour for that answer!. He's the British PM who set it all up!. And, as I understand it, the Jews at that time, paid for the land that they settled upon!.

So, first of all, there is not Palestine to occupy!. That's an old term that's being thrown about but there is no country of Palistine, today!.

also, many Palestinians who call themselves that, have come in from other lands and declared themselves such!.

Here's what you have: A Jewish state that Arabs don't like!. They tried to invade it in 1948, soon after the state was created!. They lost and were caught with their pants down, so to speak!. They cried to the UN to stop the invasion of Arab lands by the Jews who hadn't started the war but had been attacked!.

That was the start of the Jewish state!. There's been a couple of other wars and largely, the Jews have triumphed in these battles!.

Recently, President Carter, rightly or wrongly, mouthed off that Great Britain and France had several hundred nuclear bombs and that Israel had about 150!. Frankly, a rather poor press release on foreign nations' abilities which, I feel should have remained private!.

Frankly, with oil supplies being so tight, if anything disrupts the supplies from Iran, such as a war, we're looking at ten dollars a gallon for gas!. And that's a U!.S!. gallon not an Imperial gallon!. A U!.S!. gallon is about 4 litres while an Imperial gallon is five litres!.

If that happens, we will be looking at the great depression of the 1930s as good times!. God help the west and their short-sited leaders who are boxing us into a corner!.

Appeasement came in 1939 when Chamberlain sincerely thought Hitler had all he wanted!. Appeasement today means that we will be back to the stone age!.

Gordon Brown has no concept of what the common people face!. I understand he's Scotch!. if a cold wind blew up his kilt, he might be more incline to do something about this situation!.

It's not getting any better!. Either the governments of the U!.S!. or Britian must put in controls on the speculation of oil or outrighjt begin rationing it as in war time!. And, dear folks, if you think we aren't at war, you need to check more closely, unless you're a labouritre peer, paid to extoil the virtues of the current government that's vainlyh clinging onto power!.

We would be better off if the Queen simply dismissed the government, which has been done in the past, but not in modern times, and called for new elections or appointed an interim PM until such a time that elections could be legally held!.
