Question: The Napoleonic war and it's effect on food in England!?
Did the war cause an effect on the food prices in England!? I seem to remember something about the French blocking the path of ships that were importing food to England and forcing food to be more scarce and the prices to rise!.
Is this correct!? I need to know before I write it into an essay!.Www@QuestionHome@Com

You are correct in stating that the French did try to blockade the British Navy and the country but withe Great Britain being an island and the British Navy being all powerful this had little effect on the blockade hence prices!.
There would always be somewhere to allow imports and exports on merchant vessels protected by warships!. With the destruction of the French Navy at the Battle of Trafalger in 1805 by Admiral Lord Nelson the situation completely changed as the British Navy ruled supreme and were able to do the same blockade to the French!.
The French Navy after Trafalger never again caused a threat to any British shipping!.Www@QuestionHome@Com
