Yes, he flew F-102s for the guard!. It was an early Jet Age interceptor, on its last legs to be sure, but the F-102 flew Mig CAP for the first Arc Light B-52s missions over South Viet NamWww@QuestionHome@Com

Yes!. The father flew SB2C's, if I'm not mistaken, and was the only survivor in a crew of three (one of whom was a friend who took the place of the normal crew member) when he was shot down over Chichi Jima!.
The younger Bush flew F-102's!. These were air-defense interceptors too obsolete for use in Vietnam but still in service with the ANG!.Www@QuestionHome@Com
