Question: Who named the planets!?
Was it the Greeks who named the planets after their gods, and then the Romans adopted the Greek gods and changed their names and the planets names!?
OR
Did the Romans adopt the Greek gods, and then changed the Greek names to Latin names and THEN name the planets!?!?

No one knows for sure whether the planets are named by Roman gods or Greek gods!.

The Greeks and the Romans exist at the same time and formed similar gods!. Each cultural are a little different from each other!.

thats why sometimes people derive the name of their gods to either Roman or Greek!.Www@QuestionHome@Com

Various people, Greeks first, then some planets such as Uranus were discovered later!. Pluto (now a dwarf planet) was named by a 13 year old girl, she got £5 for the name (she had an interest in Greek mythology)!.Www@QuestionHome@Com

you see there are many language so every language is different, they all have different way to say it, but mostly the meaning of the name goes around "sphere"!.Www@QuestionHome@Com
