Question: What were the effects of WWII on the bahamas!?
Best Answer - Chosen by Asker:
There were no real effects of WW2 on the Bahamas during the conflict (other than incidental contact with the American and British Navies---the Brits did have an airbase and a port as well)!. The Bahamas did become a nation after the end of WW2, however!.

PS: Jewel, you are not on the same page here with the question!. Nuclear testing in the PACIFIC was conducted some time after WW2---and the Bahamas is located in the Atlantic, not the Pacific!.Www@QuestionHome@Com

In the decolonization movement fueled by WWII, the Bahamas became internally self-governing and then eventually a fully independent country!. also, in the aftermath of the war, the Bahamian economy prospered greatly!.

The Bahamas also became a major air and naval base for Britain and America during WWII!. Bases leased by the U!.S!. continued to be used after the war's conclusion!.Www@QuestionHome@Com
