Porfirio Diaz was an extremely reactionary right-wing dictator who ruled Mexico with an iron first!. Because most artists are leftists (by nature), it is no surprise they would support getting rid of Diaz!.

Diego Rivera is a good example!. He was 24 when the Revolution started!. Rivera was a known Communist, who promoted revolution and the working class in much of this work!.

David Siqueros was a decade younger than Rivera, but also a noted leftist -- one of the major Mexican muralists of the 20th century!.
