The institution of slavery would have continued for a number of years!. The Plantation owners would have voided all debt owed to northern banks!. The South would have been very pressed to resolve the debt's the Confederacy owed Europe and the chance of European "protectorships" might have arising inorder for the European powers to retrive the debts owed them!.
The Confederacry would have eventually fall apart for the very same reason it was formed!. The south left the Union and formed the Confederate States because they were not getting their way, sooner or later one or mare of the Confederate state might have left the confederacy when a state ws not getting they way inside the confederacy!. Most likely a sub division of the western Confederacy!. Each state would have had to come to terms with slavery one way or the other!. Europe had already ended the practice and it would be very difficult for European powers to deal with a country that continued the practice!. I believe that the North would have retaken the south eventually the Union could not allow a European power to establish themselves in North America!.Www@QuestionHome@Com

I would have agree with Jersey Guy!. Most of the generals fighting for the South were West point educated anyway, & families were split along political divides rather than racial ones!.
The general principles of our Constitution would still stand!. The Ku Klux Klan wouldn't been formed either, as there would have been no need to restore law & order in the south!.
Extreme racism may have even been lessoned, as there would have been no need to further retaliate against a loss!.Www@QuestionHome@Com

Slavery would have lasted a few years longer, Maybe a couple of decades!. Other than than not a whole lot different!. We are after all the same freedom loving people!
