Sadly, slavery and/or the enslavement of people was such a widely accepted concept at that time!.
It was about superiority!.
It was about power!.
It was about who was better than the other!.
There was even religion connotations in it, that God favors US over THEM!.
Or MY religion is real and YOURS is not!.
My God is real and yours is not!.
And sadly, those opinions STILL exist in a lot of ways!.
