I think you are referring to 'tilak' which the priest puts between the furrows on the forhead!.It is actually a prayer to the Lord to open the Divine Eye (called the Third Eye) to see & realise our Self!.Www@QuestionHome@Com

Indian ppl put "teekka" on their forehead!.!.itz not puja!.!.!.puja is worship of god!.!.!.
the third eye is considered as the master of our soul and body and so to give peace to our soul n body we put teekka!.!.!.Www@QuestionHome@Com

Its "Tilak" not puja!.
