I would imagine that, in common with most batttles of the period, gangrene was a huge problem!. Pneumonia has already been mentioned (Stonewall Jackson actually died of pneumonia)!. In the camps, cholera and dysentery were rife and claimed more lives than battle - at least until the Sanitation Commissin improved matters!.Www@QuestionHome@Com
