In the early stages of WWII, the US government felt bound to the policy of 'splendid isolationism' (practiced by Britain earlier on) and felt no major cause to join the war itself!. The surprise attack on Pearl Harbour on December 7, 1941 gave the US government a sufficient incentive to join WWII on Allied side!. But what must be kept in mind was that even before their official joining date, there had been secret military meeting between Churchill of Britain and Roosevelt of America!.Www@QuestionHome@Com

they didnt get involved because they wanted to be neutral and they had their unemployment problems at home because of the depressionWww@QuestionHome@Com

They wanted to stay neutral and not get involved at all!. But Japan changed that with Pearl Harbor!.Www@QuestionHome@Com

wasn't our problem!. we have only recently become a war mongering nation!. we used to mind our own damn business!.Www@QuestionHome@Com
