Question: History help !?
doing a essay plan for the causes of the first world war!.
this is my introduction:
In Europe 1914, the Archduke had been assassinated!. This was one of the short term causes!. One of the long term causes were the triple alliance and the triple entente!. In this essay I will talk about the long and short term causes and also I will show whether or not the first world war would have happened if the archduke was murdered or not!.
and for ma second paragraph i am abit stuck!. it says to talk about the long term causes which i know about but i don't know how to write them!. this is what i wrote so far:
the long term causes happened over a period of time!. as i will now discuss them!.

Make sure you got these covered in your intro: WWI was a classic example of escalation!. Austro-Hungarian Ferdinand got shot by a Bosnian-Serb, Austro-Hungary wanted the Serbs to punish the ones responsible and when they thought (deemed whatever your personal choice for the word) the Serbs hadn't complied, war started!. Look up the July Ultimatum!.Www@QuestionHome@Com
First change it to "the Archduke WAS assassinated"
Before writing your second paragraph write down the long-term causes and anything related to them eg "imperialism" will be a heading and anything about that will be bullets under that and so forth!. Then when you look back you can organise what you want to say and what you don't want to say!. It might be worth noting down in your essay the approximate date when the long-term causes started, to prove your first sentence!.

I would change it around a bit i would introduce it like this:
Within this essay i am going to analyze and discuss the causes that led to World War 1!. I will look in dept at the short term and long term reasons and how, if these cuases were not to have happened, would have changed the situations surrounding the outbreak and closure of The Great War!.Www@QuestionHome@Com

erm write about how it was a defensive war and that it was so drawn out because they were in trenches and bith sides were mostly just sitting and waiting for the other side to do summat!.!.year9!? what school!?Www@QuestionHome@Com
