Ah, shoot somebody beat me to the punch!. Yes, there were Anne Bonney and Mary Read (sometimes spelled Reade), but there was also!.!.!.

Granuaile (also known as Grace O'Malley), a 16th century Irish Pirate

Ching Shih (19th century Chinese pirate)

Awilda (5th century scandinavian, some historians question the historic accuracy of her tale)
and many more!.

yes! Mary Read or Reid or Reed or something like that, and Anne Bonny or Bonney or something like that!. We read about them a long time ago in one of my son's pirate kid books! I remembered Mary Read's name, because I thought it was made up, because it was in a kids book!. But it was real! I think there were several women who were French who were also pirates, but I can't recall their names!.Www@QuestionHome@Com

Yes!. There are famouu ones as well!. But as far as outlaws like them go, I don't beleive anyone cares if it is a girl or a boy because in either case they're breaking the law!. As for now, yes there are though their raiding parties are more advanced!. Many like to pretend to be safe guard ships that evntually stop over rich looknig yahts to pick on!.Www@QuestionHome@Com
