Question: What is western civilization!?

Hi, so I'm a grade 9 student and I am really sick of what they are not teaching us in school!. I am obstinate on learning more about the world and history and so forth than what they are teaching us! So through my recherche, I have stumbled upon the term of Western Civilization but no site will come straight out and say, in simple words, WHAT it is!. Is it an era!? What year!? Where!? western civilization is the study of europe, as in england, germany, france, spain, italy, etc!. when i took a western civ!. class, we covered the romans all the way up to the 19th century!.Www@QuestionHome@Com

Generally, "Western Civ" usually means the study of history and culture of "Western societies," which means European, U!.S!., and some middle east and south american thrown in!. It may begin with the first civilizations in the Fertile Crescent, or it may begin with the dawn of modern thought in Greece!. It should technically continue to the present, but there usually isn't enough time to study everything, so you may get to WWII!.Www@QuestionHome@Com

It's a culture that originated from Europe and spread to the Americas!. Modern day Western Europe and the Americas follows the Western culture!.
