Best Answer - Chosen by Asker:
the battle was fought twenty miles out to sea off Cape Trafalgar, Portugal by ships, not armies!. Google search "HMS Victory!."

The square in London was named to commemorate the victory long after it happened!.

Nelson was the English Admiral in charge of the British Fleet

Villeneauve was the French Admiral in charge of the Spanish/French fleet!.

Napoleon was the head of government in France at the time!.

Napoleon and Nelson never directly fought, or for that matter ever met, each other!.Www@QuestionHome@Com
