1!. They didn't 'gain' independence!. They were handed it on a plate by the USA and the UK!.
2!. Muslims and Jews lived side by side!. Both Semitics, they agreed to differ!. Shortly after the creation of the state of Israel, the Israeli people decided that the land they had been given by the above countries wasn't enough!. So they decided to expand and forced their fellow Semites to flee!.
3!. Well they've got the USA Jewish lobby behind them!.
4!. Never been there!. Wouldn't want to!. I can't understand how a people who suffered the Holocaust could turn against those who are racially the same, but have a different religion!.
Of course, when Abraham's wife Sarah finally bore him a son, she persuaded him to kick out Ismael and his mother, Hagar!.
That was probably the start of the conflict between two sections of the Semite people!.Www@QuestionHome@Com

As the first answerer mentioned it was created from Jewish immigrants!.
Israel today is very westernized country and the latest news from there is the invention of their electric car to overcome the rising petrol prices!.Www@QuestionHome@Com

Israel didn't gain independence from anybody!. The State of
Israel was founded by European Jewish immigrants after
the Second World War!.The Holocaust convinced many
Jewish people that they needed their own country to protect
