Question: What led to the Great Depression and the Dust Bowl!?
Best Answer - Chosen by Asker:
The stock market crash was caused by taxes!. The govornment taxed imports so people stopped importing things here!. Demand went up supply went down prices shot up!. People had most of their money invested during the roaring twenties!. They couldn't afford to buy the things they invested in!. Therefore the stock market crashed!.

The dust bowl was also caused by the roaring twenties!. Tractors were designed to soak up all the nutrients in the soil to help produce better food!. As a result the nutrients dried up and nothing was left but sand!. Nutrients had to be slowly added to the soil!.

Edit: an unregulated stock market did NOT cause the Great Depression!. It made it worse!. After the taxing caused the demand to go up the govornment tried to artificially control the economy to prevent depression!. It ended up making it worse!. The Depression was so bad the only thing to get us out was WWII!. If an unregulated stock market caused the Great Depression why anytime before the twenties were we not in a depression!? Regulation of the economy is a relatively new idea that made its debute slightly pre-depression and it did NOT help!.Www@QuestionHome@Com

The crash of the stockmarket
The drought of the midwest
The stupidity of the farmers for not planting something there to hold down the soil!.Www@QuestionHome@Com
