1807 sounds right for the UK!. However, the Moors of Cordova had street lighting back in 1200 A!. D!. They also had a library of over a million books, a university they even allowed their women to attend, a police force, and flush toilets!. The Christians did away with all those things (including burning the library) when they retook the city in the 1400s!.Www@QuestionHome@Com
