The US needed an economically sound trading partner, as none really existed in the world in the late 1940s, so they decided just to give them money to jump-start the process!. In addition, the Cold War was just beginning and the US believed that economic instability and poverty were the main factors that led to the rise of communism!. The US wanted to prevent the spread of communism very badly, so they poured money into Europe to stop that process!.Www@QuestionHome@Com |
