A serf tilled the land of a lord of the manor house and gave income to the (vassals), in turn the lord provided the serf with a house, food but many were mistreated it really depended on the land owner!. They did possess some rights and priveileges!.
They were considered a step higher than slaves!.Www@QuestionHome@Com
